Mr Sivalingam said the main objective of the festival was to bring films that were based more on story than commercialism, from Directors who are not afraid to be different.”In 2010, we have screened 13 films of this type and all stood out. The films were carefully chosen with a variety of themes, like culture, patriotism, friendship, romance and family values. They have shown all aspects of our lives, from adult to children, from the rich palaces to the slums”, he noted.
Applying the same yardstick, the films were chosen for this year’s edition, Mr Sivalingam said. He said plans were also afoot to display the novel attempts of youths in Tamil short films.
The NTFF committee, comprising 12 juries, decided to dedicate one day exclusively for short films.
